Reuse in Eden District

Map of charity shops etc in Eden District, Cumbria.

Here's a list of reuse options in Eden District in Cumbria. Your first port of call is obviously Freegle at www.ilovefreegle.org where you can give away free items and get stuff for nothing, ie helping your neighbours and the environment.

At this stage it's worth saying that for every item given away or sold there needs to be someone else who wants it. Quite a few people have stuff they don't need, so don't be shy about getting stuff - you are helping the environment by keeping something in use!

And before we get into a list of options, remember the mantra REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE. If you need something, get something that's well built and look after it, so you won't need to change it for a while. Many things can be REPAIRED so check that out first before deciding you need a replacement. Or consider UPCYCLING it eg give it a lick of paint!. If you can't sell or give something away, make sure you recycle it properly if possible, eg electrical items shouldn't be put in the bin.

If you want to get rid of something you don't need or can't repair, the options are sell, give away and recycle.
